01 / Learn by doing

Three rods.
A new way to count.

LEARN

Eight guided lessons

Begin with beads and digits. Follow demonstrations and try three checks in each lesson, building toward addition, subtraction, carrying and borrowing.

PRACTISE

Ten questions at a time

Choose an operation and a level. Try each answer on the board, ask for a hint when needed, and review first-check answers and help use at the end.

EXPLORE

Free Play

A board with no task or timer. Make your own numbers from 0 to 999, show or hide the value, and use Clear or Undo as you experiment.

INTERACT

Point, press, release

Aim at a bead with either controller and click the index trigger to slide it. The grouped lower beads move together, just as they do when counting on a soroban.

RETURN

Keep your place

Lesson progress, your Free Play board and the current practice session are saved locally on your headset. There is no separate app account or cloud sync.

ADJUST

Settle into your space

Recenter the workspace and adjust board size, text size, sound volume and haptics. The board stays in place while you use it.

02 / Your first number

Start small.
Try making seven.

Choose Clear. On the rightmost rod, move the upper bead toward the middle bar: that is five. Raise two lower beads toward the bar to add two more. Five plus two makes seven.

New to the abacus?

Choose Start learning on Home. The first lesson introduces the beads and digits, demonstrates each step, then lets you try it yourself.

Want a checked answer?

Use a lesson or Practice. Free Play is an open board for experimenting; reaching a number does not start another task.
