Abacus Trainer:
Learn Soroban
privacy policy

Updated 22 September 2026 · Version 1.0.0 · Areeb Labs

Abacus Trainer: Learn Soroban is a local learning application provided by Areeb Labs. For support and privacy questions, email hello@areeblabs.com. This policy describes the application's handling of information; Meta's headset, account, store and operating-system services have their own policies.

Information processed on your headset

The app uses headset and controller tracking and button input while running to position the view, point at controls and move abacus beads. It does not record your physical movements or transmit tracking data to the developer.

The app stores your sound, haptic, board-size and text-size settings, tutorial completion, lesson completion and help use, Free Play board, aggregate practice results, and your current or most recent practice session in app-specific storage on the headset. Practice records include the questions, session mode and level, question-generation seed, check counts and results, help use, current board, Undo history and session position. A completed session can remain available as your last results. These records restore your settings and progress and provide local learning feedback. The app does not keep a separate history of every incorrect answer you submit.

The app writes limited technical messages to local device logs: startup/platform/version, aggregate frame-performance measurements, display-rate results, and application pause/focus and OpenXR state transitions. The app's own diagnostic messages do not intentionally include controller poses, practice answers, account details or personal identifiers. Other device or system logs can contain additional information. Logs are not uploaded by the app.

Network and third-party services

The application includes Unity, its rendering/input libraries and OpenXR support. It has no application account, server, advertising, analytics, subscription, in-app purchase or automatic crash-upload integration. Its release manifest removes internet, camera, microphone and shared-storage permissions. The app does not access your Meta profile, friends list or user ID through Meta Platform services.

We do not receive your local learning records through the app, and the app does not sell or share them. Meta handles purchase, distribution and its platform services separately. Consult Meta's policies for those services.

Retention and deletion

Local learning records remain until you reset them, replace a saved session through normal use, or remove the app's data. Settings → Reset Progress → Delete learning progress clears learning records, the saved session and Free Play state from the save and recovery backup. It preserves sound, haptic and size preferences. Deleting the application's data through headset settings removes those preferences as well. This describes deletion from the app's records, not secure erasure of device storage. The app has no cloud synchronization feature and is configured to disable Android application backup; operating-system and device-transfer services are controlled separately by the platform.

If the app cannot read a save, it tries its last-good local backup and then clean defaults. A backup may therefore restore an earlier stage of progress after an interrupted write. Reset Progress also replaces this backup.

Support

If you choose to contact support, Areeb Labs receives your sender address, message, name and any attachments you send, including diagnostic logs you choose to share, to handle your request. Our email service providers process these messages to deliver and store support correspondence. Support correspondence is separate from the learning records stored on your headset. Review any attachment before sending it; do not send passwords, payment details or identity documents.

We keep support information only as long as needed to handle the request, resolve related issues or disputes, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed where required by law or to protect rights and safety, as described in the Areeb Labs privacy policy.

Users in any region can request access to, correction of or deletion of correspondence or diagnostic files they have sent by emailing hello@areeblabs.com with “Abacus Trainer privacy request” in the subject. No fee is charged for deletion. We handle requests subject to applicable law; information needed to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes may need to be retained. We cannot remotely read or delete learning records on your headset; use the local deletion controls described above. For Meta account or purchase records, use Meta's privacy controls or contact Meta.

Website visits

Our website hosting providers may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and request logs for security and reliable operation when you visit our website. This is separate from data stored by the app on your headset and is described in the Areeb Labs privacy policy.

Audience and changes

Version 1 is designed for teen and adult beginners. It does not offer social features, user-generated content or in-app communication.

We will update this policy when the application's information practices change and date the published revision.
